Hi everyone!

I would like to know when to charge per word and when to charge per hour?

I will be quoting a company I used to work for as part of their sales team, but as I am now a freelance translator they have asked me to translate their product descriptions, new product launch emails, flyers and newsletters.

One option would maybe be to send them a "package" quote for monthly translations. Is that possible?

I usually quote translation jobs per word, though for jobs over 10,000 words I may quote per project. Regarding proof-reading/revision/editing I quote per hour. My transcreation jobs are always quoted per project. I wouldn't offer a "package" quote to a customer. Hope this helps...
