See more For years, Nuffic's Nederlandse Hoger Onderwijs Termen in het Engels - or HOT as it's widely known - has been a boon to all translators who have ever had to translate for the higher education field.
Originally published in 1994, a revision was long overdue, so we decided to make a clean break and produce a new glossary. Simply called the Nuffic Glossary, it will only be available through its web interface and will be fully database-driven so that - with a little effort from myself and some feedback from the field - it will be relatively easy to keep up to date and accurate. More interestingly perhaps, it will be completely free to access, with no subscription charge and no registration required.
Currently nearing completion, the all-new Nuffic Glossary will be launched as soon as it has been thoroughly revised and tested. I can't promise an exact launch date at the moment, but it should be towards the end of this year.
If anyone is interested in receiving an e-mail notification when it does come on-line, please drop me an e-mail at chopley @ nuffic.nl with the words 'Nuffic Glossary' in the subject line. ▲ Collapse | | | Michael Beijer Spojené krá¾ovstvo Local time: 13:32 Člen holandčina -> angličtina + ... Wow, your post is 17 years old! Anyway, just went looking for it, and it's gone! Any idea where it went? Hope it's just temporary.

Hi Olly,
I’ve looked, too, but it appears to be a brutally condensed version compared to the wonderfully accessible tool we had until recently. I’ve contacted Nuffic directly to see whether there are any plans to make it available online again. Failing that, I’m hoping a version thereof that can be purchased would be available. Even if it’s a ‘frozen’ version, it’s better than what we’ve got now.

Hi guys,
Forgot to mention here that I emailed them a while back and they sent me the last version as an Excel file. I wrote an ‘article’ about it at:

Hi Michael,
Nice to see that you have added the frozen Nuffic Glossary to beijerpedia. In my further correspondence with Nuffic about the defunct glossary, the Nuffic Information Centre agent added:
"Hergebruik van de content van de Glossary is juridisch mogelijk als aan de voorwaarden voor de creative commons licentie naamsvermelding wordt voldaan, maar dan uitsluitend voor niet-commercieel gebruik." ... See more Hi Michael,

So perhaps worth adding that to the info on your site

Thanks for the info Chris! I just added a copyright notice, which I think ought to suffice.
