Způsob odlévání tenké ocelové desky, při kterém se v kokile (48) vytváří z tekuté oceli tenká deska, jejíž tloušťka je menší než 150 mm, která se potom válcuje do pásu tvárné oceli. Tekutá ocel se přivádí z licí pánve do první komory (44,7), odkud se přivádí do druhé komory (46,1) vakuové mezipánve, přičemž se reguluje tok oceli a do tekuté oceli se zavádí čisticí plyn. Ve druhé komoře (46,1) se udržuje nízký tlak, takže se čisticí plyn alespoň částečně vylučuje z tekuté oceli, načež se tekutá ocel odvádí výtokovým otvorem do kokily (48).
