Hi, my name is Maria. I am a translator and interpreter with 5 years of experience.

I worked two years as a translator at a translation agency and have gained invaluable experience by translating texts in various subject areas; with kind assistance from my editors I learned the fundamentals of my occupation. I also gained an understanding of the industry and how the translation market works in Russia and abroad. Combined with my work as a freelance translator, where I taught myself how to sell my skills, communicate with clients, and organize my workplan, I have found the confidence of a competent translator, which, in turn, prepared me to work at such a highly demanding and professional environment that my current workplace is. Now I am a translator and interpreter at the HSE University that conducts extended research in various areas and holds many scientific conferences to promote and explain their results to the business, to the government and for the purposes of international industry-science cooperation.

In September–December 2021 I underwent Translation Technology course at Middlebury Institute if International Studies and gained many tech-related skills that enhanced my delivery of translation projects.

how to make a glossary from your Trados TM;
how to work with other translators using project package;
how to work with the style guide and run quality checks using Trados.
