I don't watch much TV and I don't have any favourite TV programmes, but when I do I prefer subtitled films but in other languages. Of course the main ones are French, English and Spanish, but I also like to listen to other foreign languages. Regarding TV channels I have no problems, I can even watch Turkish channels, like Dizi Channel!

I only watch the streaming services. My favorite dramas are in Spanish (European), French, German, Scandinavian languages and Korean. I can get TV programs from Russia, Spanish, Taiwan and China via the Internet.

My all-time favourite TV series (Deadwood 2004-2006) was in 19th century Shakespearean American English, which took me about 3 rewatches, and constantly checking the dictionary to fully understand and appreciate the colourful language, and it got better and better with every watch. Nothing that's been done in the last two decades has come close to its brilliance. I can't wait to watch it again. C*cksuckers don't make 'em like that anymore...
German, French, Italian | Jan 25, 2023 |
I have installed a dish antenna on my terrace and get both Hotbird and Astra channels in German and Italian at zero cost. The French TV shows I get over the rooftop aerial.

Wolfgang wrote: I have installed a dish antenna on my terrace and get both Hotbird and Astra channels If only certain (decoded) French TV channels on Hotbird had piqued my interest in learning French instead of causing me to pursue 'other interests' in the early 00s, my translation business would've benefitted greatly by a second language pair... I reckon I only have myself to blame for that...
