"A gyakorlat milyen mechanikus gyomirtási módszereket alkalmaz?
A kapálás — ugarolás — helye szerint megkülönböztetünk:
— totál ugarolást,
— a fák „csurgója” alatti talajművelést,
— a facsík kapálását."

"Weed control in organically managed orchards requires special attention to preventing weed problems before they start. Cover crops planted in middles and mechanical control of weeds in the tree row is key components of an organic weed management program.
...
However, weeds in the tree row must be managed nonchemically with in-row cultivation, cross discing, mulches, hand hoeing or flaming. The choice of method depends in part on the type of irrigation system. "

"Mechanical cultivation of the tree row can be very effective in maintaining the weed-free strip. There are many types of mechanical cultivators on the market that can efficiently control vegetation, but they can have serious drawbacks. Tillage should be as shallow as possible to avoid damage to the root system of the trees, and should be performed before weed become too large and woody. Mechanical cultivators can cause tree damage and destruction, especially if an operator proceeds too fast or does not have adequate training on the unit. Still, mechanical cultivation is a very effective tool particularly for organic orchards where chemical weed control options are limited in availability and effectiveness. Mechanical cultivation is also a good tool for preparing a soil surface for successive planting of an under-tree cover crop if desired."

tree strip

row: sor
tree: fa

"Single row tree strip"
"3 row tree strip with training trees"
"Crop quality and yields can be increased by enhancing microclimatic conditions, offsetting any reduction by the removal of tree strips from cultivation."

"One of the possible strategies with cover crops at the tree strip is sowing a green manure crop in the late summer. This crop may or may not survive the winter, and the tree strip is clean again during flowering. This strategy combines the advantages of a cover crop in the late summer with the advantages of having a clean tree strip during flowering."

"Plants for use in your tree strip/curb strip...
Put shade-loving plants and flowers (e.g. hostas, coral bells, vinca) at the base of any tree that's in your tree strip. The tree also serves as a barrier to protect the plants.
Fill the tree strip with low shrubs which also deter foot traffic."

alley, drive alley

Drive alley a modernebb kifejezés, arra utal, hogy gépi kultiválással kezelik a fasorok közötti csíkot.

A permanent grass cover may be planted in the alleys of an orchard as an alternative to cultivation.

Grasses often are planted between rows of perennial crops such as fruit trees. The grass alleys cool the soil, prevent erosion, improve water penetration, exclude weeds and harbor beneficial insects.
