German term

Dom

German to English Medical Medical: Instruments Hernia Surgery

Thanks, Susanne! Haha, thanks so much! Could you submit that as an answer so I can give you points for pointing that out and providing the reference?
Thanks again & have a great day!

Seems like you gave the answer yourself in your comment to David's answer - cylinder. Please have a look here http://www.ecatalog.ethicon.com/hernia-repair/view/prolene-h...

Danke, aber nicht, was ich suche Thanks, David, but the stoma guard seems to be a seperate device that is worn after surgery. My description may have been a little off. Please check out this picture of the mesh I'm talking about to see the tunnel/tube ("Dom") I'm referring to. Thanks!

"mesh patch" or "mesh screen"

"Mesh, also referred to as a "patch" or a "screen," is a product that many surgeons use to repair hernias."
http://www.herniasolutions.com/mesh-hernia-repair

Please see accompanying photo in this reference.
Note from asker:
Thanks again for your help, David, but I already know that the english term for these patches is "mesh". What I'm looking for is the name of that cylindrical part sticking out of the mesh, called "Dom" in German.
