Teil eines Prüfstands. Dient zu Simulation des Fahrzeuggewichtes, und ist im Wesentlichen ein Joch das Druck ausübt. Ich würde es als "yoke" übersetzen. Press yoke wäre eine Option.

It doesn't suit my context. Figures in my manual show a kind of beam or yoke which is meant to be lowered to exercise pressure.

Not sure.. They use "beam-shaped yoke" or "bar-shaped yoke", also "pressure yoke" in a patent translation, which does describe it accurately http://www.google.com/patents/DE102012009985A1?cl=en How much can you trust those translations though?
