disagree SinnerAtta : Following the cited link leads to "These braided straps..." along with pictures of the same. The original term explicitly calls for "massive", galvanized flat-steel earthing/grounding conductor (for burying). The word "ground rod" is correct.

Still a STRAP, not a rod; I think Akser can see the difference. I didn't suggest "braided" anywhere

Original: "Maschinelle Anlagen sind mit einem Erdungsanschluss für massive Bandeisenerder (4x60 mm, verzinkt) auszurüsten."

Um eine Erdung der Anlage zu gewährleisten, wird ein solider verzinkter Eisenstab oder eine ebenson behandelte Eisenplatte mindestens 90 cm tief in das Erdreich eingelassen. Hier ist die Rede von dem Erdungsanschluss, der die Erdung (hier mittels verzinkten Bandeisen) sicher stellt. Hier nimmt der altbekannte Erdungsstab die Form eines Flachstahls an.

Einige Länder verwenden anstelle von "grounding" (N.Amer.) den Begriff "earthing" (Erdung).
