I'm trying to get the idea of the play on words in English using "l'air de temps" in the sense of it being fashionable and using the sense of "being fuelled by it". However, it's not as easy as it seems.

Any pearls of wisdom here?

maybe: spirit of the times...

spirit as in geist and as in spirits to quench your thirst or to fuel your inspiration?

ici, le design fits into, matches, reflects the spirit of the times.

agree Richard Benham : Quenching your thirst with spirits can be a dangerous business.

Design is more than ever in the air of the times, inhaling its inspiration...

I like air of the times....people keep saying spirit but in French that is ESPRIT ...NOT AIR..which is lighter....

disagree sarahl (X) : you need a refresher course.
