Dan, are you doing translations in reverse? There are no such colloquialisms in the English language - pancake and horseradish. Having fun?

Comment: "Well Montefiore , I was wondering how long it would take... but you must admit we had a bit of fun along the way. As you correctly point out there ain't no such expression in English... shame though. Plenty of good translations of blin provided by our esteemed colleagues though - you can't buy that kind of expertise. ;-)"

Crepe
Sometimes I say "crepe," but I usually find "pine sticks" to be more expressive and colloquial. My mother says "lord love a duck," which is probably more regional.

Shit!
I'd say, these two are perfectly interchangeable. If I understand correctly, Dan, you mean "pancake" in Russian -- блин, which is an euphemism for б...дь. The "censorship level" of "shit" and "блин" is approximately the same -- a common expression, but not quite nice, any way you look at it. :-)

Ну и fun и нас тут!
Dan, if you are looking for a Russian way of saying this--zmeika's variant is good. Блинский нафиг/еклмн/епрст тоже часто встречаются. My mother in law likes to use "shoot" or "sh-ugar" to make S*it sound "nicer".

Just for the hell of it, I'm letting my RAF past catch up with me again.
This is the only colloquial use of "pancake" that I have ever heard!

There is an RAF song to the tune of "John Brown's Body", the first line of which is "They scraped him off the tarmac like a load of strawberry jam..." (Is that going to put people off eating pancakes with strawberry jam?)

Черт возьми! / Черт побери!
This expressions are not all that strong, and they will pass any sensorship.
