Administrative law sets out these rules. It also lays down the rules that indicate where a citizen must apply if he does not agree with a decision taken by an administrative body and how such cases should be tried. These rules are part of the law of administrative procedure.
Examples of government bodies are the municipal executive (burgomaster (i.e. mayor) and aldermen), the provincial executive and the central government (ministers). There are also specialised government bodies that perform administrative duties and administer laws in particular fields. For example, a water control corporation can issue a permit to a company to discharge waste water, the Media Authority may cancel a broadcasting franchise and the tax authorities can make a tax assessment.
