This relates to the writings of a Catalan poet and the whole sentence is "Lògicament, el diàleg epistolar està estretament lligat a l’experiència personal i els interlocutors varien tot seguint el curs de la vida i, per tant, poden ajudar a dibuixar el periple vital del poeta."
The best I can think of so far is "life course" or "life's journey"- but they don't really seem right - any ideas, please?

trace the poet's lifeline
Life line is one of the lines that palm readers read on your hand. This is obviously more metaphoric, but I think it works well with dibuixar. Here trace is like draw, meaning to follow, not interpret, the line of his life. If the original is very literary you could also get away with periplus (or periplous) with is used rarely.
