French term

les indices d'indexation

French to English Law/Patents Law: Contract(s) refers to the indexation of a contract
Appears in a contract that deals with a long term partnership bonus between two companies

Im(DK), Ip (DK) et I0(DK),, étant les indices d’indexation relatifs au contrat de Dunkerque, respectivement pour le mois m, le mois p (mois de la date de prise d’Effet de l’Action TCO considérée), et le 31 décembre 2016 calculés à partir de la formule d’indexation suivante:

In = (27% + 25,8% x 47.1% x et l0 = 1

The contract uses the l’indice Frais et services divers 2. (Costs and Services Index) and the all employees hourly labour cost index (ICHTTrev-TS)

Does indice d'indexation simply mean "the indices used for the Dunkirk contract"?

Discussion

philgoddard Feb 21:
A couple of points There's something wrong with the formula, and "rev", meaning "revised", has been omitted from the second index.

indices/indexation factors

We don't know what comes before your text, but you could say 'indexation factors' if it's not clear that this is about bonus indexation.

Yes, 'indices' in French is 'indices' in English. Why are you disagreeing?

indexing parameters

still avoids the 'indexation-linked indices' double-up.

"the indexing parameters (from my own legal drafting experience: corporate members' partnership bonus and share of profits and/or loss etc.) used for the Dunkirk contract"
Example sentence:

Common indexation parameters include the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Wage Cost Indices.

Indexing parameters can contain indexing, conversion, and resource collection parameters, options, and values

Peer comment(s):

neutral AllegroTrans : Why jettison "indices" since the first of your example sentences clearly uses this term, whereas "parameters" has a wider meaning? Or is this because you simply cannot bear to agree with Phil G?

By definition, Index Based Pricing is the use of a market or raw material index (or group of indices) to calculate and regularly refresh prices.
Peer comment(s):

disagree AllegroTrans : That is the method but not the translation of "indices" // yes but it isn't an economics question, it's about indexation in a contract

This is how economists would put it.// contracts are part of economics too.
disagree Daryo : In this text it's about bonuses being "indexed", not prices or costs.

The purpose of indexation is to readjust contracts to account for inflation. In the United States, the consumer price index (CPI), producer price index (PPI) and Employment Cost Index (ECI) are the most frequently used indexes.
