Yes, but just in cases of uncontested divorce by mutual agreement between the parties. Needless to say that it is by mutual consent

Note: in some English-speaking countries (Ireland & Singapore), it is called simply 'divorce by consent' - the term that hit me right between the eyes on surveying this enjoyable question..

Thanks and gracias, Toni. Uncontested was not an angle I - having being 'taught' family law by a mealy-mouthed Englishman Solicitor at Law School - thought necessary to spell out.
