Spanish term

VL

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) Cardiology
This abbreviation is from a Colombian discharge summary. The paragraph describes the patient's age, reasons for coming to the ER, history of CHF, shortness of breath when lying down, tachypnea. She is admitted for observation. Then it says, "SE SOLICITA VL POR MEDICINA INTERNA CON REPORTE DE PARACLINICOS YA QUE CURSA CON ICC DESCOMPENSADA.

In the following pages there is a list of medical orders that says essentially the same thing: one of the orders is "VL por MI con reportes". I'm thinking it may refer to some panel of lab tests, or the V could be for vigilancia - also, I wonder if it could be Volumen Latido (stroke volume) but there are no test results with that name. Is there anyone with knowledge of medical terminology in Colombia who could help?

valoración - evaluation

This is just above a guess, but I think it's a likely possibility. "Valoración" certainly makes sense in the context, although I've been unable to find an abundance of examples (or even one) of VL in the same sentence as valoración. There's one web site that seems to show it, but I can't access all of its pages ... they just tantalize me with a glimpse of the first page (https://www.scribd.com/document/339404885/Resumen-de-Diagnos...

I'll keep trying to find some concrete examples a bit longer.

Here's one at least ... although it's not in a medical context exactly. Go to: pepsic.bvsalud.org/pdf/rcp/v1n1/10.pdf nd look on page 10, bottom, in the box with the other acronyms.
