Italian term

trasporti in margine

Italian to English Bus/Financial Accounting bookkeeping
"• verifica che la Società tenga i suddetti registri IVA secondo le norme di un’ordinata contabilità, senza spazi in bianco, senza interlinee e senza trasporti in margine (art. 2219 C.C.)."

The document is an accountant's letter offering his auditing services.

Is this simply entries in the margins of the books? Or is it perhaps amounts carried over in the margins? The Italian Civil Code leaves nothing to chance!

entries in the margin

Hi Jim,
this is quite interesting, everybody just uses this expression, but no one there to exactly explain what it means!!
in my opinion, it simply means entries in the margin, as this is to make sure nothing is added after the original writing...
in fact this is the basic reason for not leaving empty spaces and interlinee..

ciao c
Note from asker:
Hi Cristiana. Yes it is interesting, especially if it isn't clear to a native speaker. The Civil Code gives no explanation either, but is cited everywhere.

without going/writing/typing out of/over/beyond the margins

As I see it, they are talking about formatting, here
