I am a Hungarian native speaker, a near-native speaker of English and a fluent speaker of Russian. I have been a translator and consecutive/simultaneous interpreter for 24 years.

I am an applied linguist with a BA with Hons in English, Public Sector Interpreting and Translating Cert from ELTE ITK.

I am currently based in the UK. I have a sound financial, legal, insurance and public sector translation/interpreting track record, working with public sector clients directly and via market leading translation agencies. My key areas of expertise include banking, finance and business services, auditing, mergers and acquisitions, brokerage, legal harmonisation, EU regulations and institutions, company and patent law, insurance claims adjustment and actuary services.

My nieche expertise is in transcreation: I adapt marketing materials and advertising materials and slogans to the target cultural context so they sound like as if they were created in the target language. I am skilled in using CAT tools (MemoQ and Trados).

I translate for publishing industry clients too, including several academic books into English for CEU Press and various University publishers in the US.
