This command appears on a control panel. The document is a manual on procedures to be performed when testing the local control panel.

The paragraph at stake reads:
With the main oil pump running [sic] it will be simulated [sic] no motor read back to start the stand-by oil pump.

Please note: We have kept the faulty syntax of the source text.
Any clue anyone? Your help is appreciated.

No contexto: "Com a bomba de óleo principal funcionando, será simulada uma leitura da bomba de 'sem motor', para dar a partida na bomba de óleo reserva."

agree Mauro Lando : CERTISSIMO, ANGELO; Bloomfield, the sintax of the sentence is allright. It sounds weird because the section "no motor read back" ought to be between quote marks.

"no motor"

"... será simulada uma situação de ausência de motor com leitura "no motor" (sem motor)..."
I think it's a confusing text, and if the panel is keeping the sentence "no motor" in english I suggest you keep it in english, otherwise when an operator (who probably won't understand english) reads the manual it won't make any sense.
