Reversing Full Screen setting in Internet Explorer

I feel really stupid asking for help with this! I have been setting up my new PC (with Windows 7) and struggling with reduced font sizes on websites etc. In Internet Explorer 8, I tried Tools, Internet Options, Full Screen. Having realised that it hid all screen icons, I tried to reverse it but can't find out how. I'm reluctant to undo all my settings etc by reverting tp default settings.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Another option is to point the cursor right to the top of the screen.

Have you tried this neat little feature in the lower right corner on the screen ("100%", next to a magnifying glass symbol) in IE? Here you can change the zoom level. I use it a lot because some web designers apparently prefer bacteria sized fonts for their web sites. My eyes aren't the youngest...
CTRL +, CTRL - works as well.

Thanks Nicole; yes I'm using that but it's not only websites, it's all sorts of applications, such as the dialogue box on dictionary CDs. I'll have to get a bigger monitor!
