if it says it cannot delete it because it is in use, even though you have all microsoft items closed then:

do a ctrl+alt+delete and look under your processes and end "windword" try to delete again

this is what I did and what a relief


This worked perfectly well for my MS Word 2013. Thanks a bunch!!!
