I would love to organize this event, but this will be my first time in Utrecht (going there to sit for an ATA exam). Is there anyone familiar with the city to recommend a place? | | | Elza van Swieten (X) Local time: 01:41 German to Dutch + ...
Hi Csaba Ban, What kind of place do you mean. A hotel? | | | Csaba Ban Hungary Local time: 01:41 Member (2002) English to Hungarian + ...
Dear All, Thank you for showing interest in this powwow. The kind of place I meant is rather a cosy pub or a cafe. So far I organized 5 powwows in Budapest and participated in two more abroad, and a pub/restaurant/cafe setting always worked out quite well. As I have not been to Utrecht, I will rely on you guys to propose a local hangout. regards from Budapest on the first genuine spring day C... I am sorry, but almost in the last minute I have to cancel my quick trip to the Netherlands. Of course, if the other people feel like meeting up, just go ahead and have fun! | | | Let's plan the details | May 26, 2004 |
I see that Csaba won't be able to come, but it seems there is enough interest to go ahead anyway. I think cafe 't Hoogt sounds fine for a meeting place. What kind of time do we want to meet? Looks like 3 people have an exam, so how about afterwards, say 5.30-6pm? Perhaps meet for dinner? What do you all think at this point? Hope to see you there. | | | Csaba Ban Hungary Local time: 01:41 Member (2002) English to Hungarian + ... happy meeting | Jun 3, 2004 |
I wish I could be there with you... I hope at least some of you will actually meet up and have a chat. To console myself for not being in Utrecht, I will be visiting a concert Saturday night in Budapest with Suzanne Vega and Sting | |

How was it? did any of you eventually meet up? | | | Not as far as I know... | Jun 11, 2004 |
Not as far as I know, I didn't get a response to my posting. Too bad! So I just chatted with my fellow translators at the exam and then had a lovely dinner with some family members in Utrecht. I do know the ATA exams are held annually, so maybe we can try again next year... | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Powwow: Utrecht - Netherlands Wordfast Pro | Translation Memory Software for Any Platform
