I'm the only person actually earning money by the sweat of my brow, but my partner has managed to get to a point in life where he gets money from various income streams without working now. He's still working, except he does it for free for friends in need rather than billing for it.

No

No. In fact, in some months, my wife earns more than I do (she is a salaried employee). Also, my wife works/worked longer hours during the pandemic (she's in an essential service industry), so her income has increased even more, while mine has remained relatively stable. I've been very fortunate in this regard: no matter how little work I get, we can always pay the rent at the end of the month. And when I get a lot of work, and after I've sorted out the cashflow issue, we can splurge.

Yes - I'm the only breadwinner here but I'm also the only bread-eater. There's also my cat, but she doesn't eat bread.

No, my wife is a lawyer

But she graduated in 2019 and still didn't have time to bbuild her client portfolio to actually contribute with more than 10% or 15% of our budget. In time she will, and I'll likely reduce my work load (hopefully).

How come people living alone by choice (not as a result of a divorce or widowhood) are not considered in this poll, but only traditional families/couples? Guess singles fall under the 'Yes' (!) or 'Other' (!) categories, uh! Congrats to the poll creators. Always one step... behind the times.
So far, among the people answering "yes", there having been no married couples where the husband is the sole bread-winner.
Oh, except for me. My answer is yes. I am the sole bread-winner. Marriage is about give-and-take. I give, my wife takes ;0)
