I have used three in all, imposed by the agency I used to work for.
I do have two of those on my computer still, but I'm increasingly wanting to ditch at least one. Trouble is the client who sends that stuff does give me interesting work.
My own are Wordfast PRO 3 and 4, which I prefer by far;
But 2 regular clients are using MemoQ and paying for my license, and that's OK.
Then there are other clients that ask me to use MemSource, which is free, but also not as good.
Finally, certain clients have their own CAT tool on their portals, which can be quite irritating, but at least all CATS have many common features so usually I manage.

I made the switch from Trados to memoQ a few years ago and never looked back.
I use web-based CAT tools once in a blue moon, but I am assuming the poll refers to regular use.

Trados in the past. Still do not have my own memoQ but I am intend to purchase one (the office which require memoQ provided me a shared license). | | | Michael Harris Nemecko Local time: 17:37 Člen (2006) nemčina -> angličtina
Actively and proficiently - Trados + Across
and about 4 or 5 other very rarely.
I hate MemoQ and the costs for Transit (which is not so bad to use) are just too high.
I have used some really good web-based CAT tools in the past, but I do tnd to avoid it. | | | Trados Studio | Jan 20, 2017 |
Most of my clients use it, and I've been with Trados a long time.
I used Wordfast Classic for a time, which was useful as a backup when Trados Workbench played up after updates, but all that is in the past!
Tried MemoQ, but it did not seem to have anything Studio did not have, so I did not change over.
I refuse to use online CATs - most I have tried are a distraction, and unnecessary for the work I do. One client can link up to Studio, which works fine. ... See more Most of my clients use it, and I've been with Trados a long time.

My CAT or no CAT! I can still do things the old-fashioned way, but I go to some lengths to get a document I can feed into Trados. ▲ Collapse | | | neilmac Španielsko Local time: 17:37 španielčina -> angličtina + ...

Trados Studio is my choice.
I also use Across, Memsource and XTM for specific clients (and I don't like these tools, but I do like the clients who use them...)

My CAT of choice is Wordfast Pro 3 and this is the tool I use more regularly, even when clients don't require any CAT at all.
I also love Memsource, which I use for an important client and some smaller ones.
I also use, when I need to, Trados 7, Trados Studio 2011, memoQ (don't like them), SDLX (really don't like it) and Wordfast Pro 4 (I hate it).

I installed Trados due to an insisting client, didn't like it much and didn't develop my TM and TB. Two years later, I installed MemoQ and never looked back either. I still have some clients who send me jobs to be done in on-line platforms, most of them are terrible, but no big deal. But I will certainly never use Trados or Studio again. | | | MemoQ is a scam | Aug 6, 2022 |
MemoQ is buggy enough, but when you add in clients insisting on connecting with their servers to use it, its' a recipe for disaster. If anything goes wrong you have to pay for support, which is retroactive, so if you haven't had a problem for a year or two when something inevitably messes up, you have to pay for support for the years you weren't paying.
Trados will start selling new versions without an instruction manual which must be a confusing nightmare for new translators.

Both Trados and MemoQ cost a fortune and perform poorly, but they collude with agencies to find a way to underpay translators.
At this stage everyone should realize, these are basically databases, the bells and whistles don't improve anything, free or low-cost CAT is just as good, and the agencies are just looking to underpay.
There's no reason why a project manager shouldn't be able to convert a TM, and in my experience, only a very good project manager knows how to maintain a TM.
What got me here was MemoQ not synching on the server, so after paying USD600 just over a year ago, they now expect me to pay another $300 to fix their "unknown error".
