Off topic: How would you translate "shouting till they are blue in the face" into your language? Thread poster: natalykelly

Hello!
I'm writing a blog post where I'll be mentioning the phrase "shouting until they are blue in the face." I hope to talk about how difficult it is to translate idiomatic expressions like these into other languages.
Do any of you have examples of how you would convey this idea in your language? I'd love to know what the corresponding phrase is (if one exists) as well as what it means in English.

That would be either:
Zich de keel schor schreeuwen (shouting until their throats hurt), which conveys a sense of enthusiasm (e.g. cheering on your sports team);
or
Schreeuwen tot ze een ons wegen (shouting until they weigh one ounce), which conveys a sense of uselessness (nobody will hear or listen)

krzyczeć do utraty tchu – to shout[/scream] till you lose your breath.
Probably nothing stronger exists in Polish, and definitely nothing with a blue face. The method here would be to concentrate on the shouting (major) and on some things than can happen to your face due to exertion or agitation or whatever (minor), finally whether you can combine the two. To correct your misprint, по should be до:
кричать до посинения
Another option would be to shout oneself hoarse:
кричать до хрипоты
