I have just noticed that I am able to see - in the Visitors tab - what words were used to reach my profile through Google.com. I think this is a very useful feature. Thanks!
However, if the visitor came through Google.de or Google.ro, the searched words are not shown. I hope this will be possible in the future.

Where do you see it? I can't! Jun 29, 2005

Mihai, where do you see the words used in the search? I can only see the word "search" in brackets

They are not always shown Jun 29, 2005

It seems the words are not shown for all searches made through Google.com. I don’t know why. I can see that the last two times my profile was reached using the words “romanian financial translations" and “accounting boot” . But I can also see older searches where no words are shown.

"search" in brackets

I don't even see the word "search" or any reference to words used to reach my profile ::::::
Is there a column for that?

Grace.

In the "came from" column Jun 29, 2005

Below the google dot something part.

But I only see the word "search" in one of the visitors...

By the way, I don't know if this has been asked before, but I wonder what exactly means the "Other" in came from... What other parts of the proz site or of the Internet can be "other"?

Just started logging searched terms yesterday Jun 29, 2005

We just started logging search terms yesterday, so visits from search engines prior to that won't show terms. Searches after that should show terms even for local versions of Google. We'll look into it. Thanks!

I only have one "other" and 99% say "Direct Link/Unknown", however, in my personal hit counter (not the ProZ one) I see that there are some hits from google (I can see there the words used for the search).

Search engine discrepencies fixed Jun 29, 2005

The visitor tab will now display the search keywords for search engines visits coming from most known search engines. Though records do actually go back further then Sunday, so you should see a search term for older entries too.

2 possible additions? Jun 29, 2005

Hey,

In this connection I was thinking of the same thing for Site Searches and possibly even the ability to see what settings the visitor had when they found you in the Directory?

Great! Jun 29, 2005

I have just cast a glance to the key words used to find my profile and done my personal statistics: I guess many people just wanted to download from teh Web the film the Interpreter with Subtitles in Polish or Romanian

Have fun with this new feature

Nice feature Jun 30, 2005

But I get all "Not logged in" when I had been seeing all the time whether they were freelancers or outsourcers or not logged in.... (they have changed)

thanks for the detailed directory info + update Jul 7, 2005

Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, along with this change my visitors tracker has stopped showing the type of visitor (all are shown as Not logged in). I wonder if others are having the same problem?

I submitted a support request some time ago so I assume it's being dealt with.

ADDED: This problem has now been fixed.
