Am usually to busy working to even think about engaging in work-related activities in my "spare" time. I do often enjoy shouting abuse at bad subtitling on TV though, and wonder why they don't just employ a native speaker who actually understands what is being said in the approriate registers...
before actually starting translating, I did it for fun. I never had a paid subtitling job, but I transcribed few times. It is fun, but very difficult. I would like to subtitle and transcribe more. | | | | Learning & Polishing | May 9, 2011 |
I do enjoy it for some enjoyment but also for staying 'in practice', and I do find that seeing other people's work can be just as a learning tool. I don't meet too may people with same linguistic appreciation, so it's always good to keep my eyes open.
