Katherine Matles  \"Organizer\" Fallas are from March 15 to March 19. I think it would be a great moment to have a Powwow. I haven't thought about a place. But anyone coming from outside of Valencia who plans to stay more one than night would need to look for accomodations months ahead.
Xlincasanova   sounds great. will help all i can. can block inexpensive lodging at beach for those who want it. shared apts.will post price and phone number later.
Maria Sampedro  \"Photographer\" It will be very nice having a Powwow in Valencia!
James Hollander   Hmm, this sounds interesting. Been a few years since I've gone to fallas. Nice to meet colleagues too. Think I'll grab that "Intercity" from Madrid.
Parrot   Keep me posted just in case...
Carmen Lawrence  \"Photographer\" Finally one I can probably go to! I haven't seen the fallas in years.
XDylanS  \"Host\" Like most sensible people who live in Valencia afraid I will be leaving for Fallas but looking to rent out our flat if anyone interested - very centrally located could use for Pow wow too as is very big (5 bedrooms)
MJ Barber   we're certainly getting organised early! Could be fun
Ruth Guter   Last year I was in Valencia just before fallas and I've seen many girls in the streets trying on their costumesustoms and it's so beautiful.
Sabine Holz   It would be great having a Powwow in Valencia (almost my second home town :) I will certainly be in Valencia during the whole month of March and would also like to guide Powwowers to show them "my" city. Think I could also organize some accomodation...
Xhewlett  \"Host\" FALLAS OF VALÈNCIA
  What are these?

XRuben Berrozpe (X)   No way my Valencia's relatives (on the political side :) will let me go elsewhere during Fallas. I'll be there. Additionally, I might be able to find some lodging solutions - but it's just too early now to confirm. Well, things will sure develop.
David Brown   Ooops, I meant to say I am interested in the powwow, as I live and work in Valencia
XGilbor   ...
Franck Charreire   Yep, interested...
Lawrence Lilue   Please, keep me posted. I may be able to make it.

Fallas Casal Jan 22, 2004

Wow. I see that people are really interested! How exciting! Guess what. I belong to the Falla de la Universidad Politécnica and they said they wouldn't mind if we held the meeting at the Casal (its on campus). What do you all think of the idea?

Good idea Jan 26, 2004

I guess that's a very good idea, Katherine... Shall we need transport? I think the Politécnica is a little bit far off the centre, but it should be well connected anyway (metro/bus).

I will most likely bring an "outsider"icon_smile.gif That's my girlfriend, who is from Valencia. Will try to convince her to meet the strange race of ProZians here...

2) Meet at Sally O'Brians on Avenida Aragon for a drink and decide from there what to do later.

Please indicate which option you prefer.

Thanks!

Options Mar 15, 2004

As I live in Valencia, and my wife already makes the best paella, I prefer Option 2 (It's also nearer home)

if anyone is interested in meeting earlier, i can meet at the Campanar Falla, next to HIPERCOR (free parking) in the morning and after seeing some fallas, getting some chocolate and buñuelos, end up at Mascletá. Where to eat Mar 16, 2004

Just across the Aragon Bridge from Sally O'Brien's is the Ensanche/Ruzafa district with probably the most concentrated number of restaurant/bars/fallas.Depending on numbers and the time we may not need to book. It is also near Paseo Alameda for watching the Castillo.

Sorry..... Mar 16, 2004

I won't be able to attend on Thursday as promised. Lots of work and personal things have forced me to delay my trip to Valencia to the 19th. So I won't be able to meet you.

I am sorry this time it could not be possible but I wish you a very nice powwow, "castillo" and paella!!
