Spanish term

cúpula hepática

Spanish to English Medical Medical (general)
Objetivo:
Analizar retrospectivamente la seguridad y eficacia de la ablación percutánea tanto de la radiofrecuencia (RF) como del microondas (MWs) en el manejo de tumores de la cúpula hepática por vía transpulmonar.

I'm finding very few results for either hepatic cupula or liver cupula, so wondering if a different term is used.

Thanks in advance,

Juliette

hepatic dome / liver dome

I'm only giving this 3 because I'm finding it hard to locate a clear anatomical description of what the "cúpula hepática" actually is. I think it just means the top part of the liver, which is kind of dome-shaped, fitting into the dome of the diaphragm. Anyway, "hepatic dome" is fairly common in English, and there is a reasonable sprinkling of results for "hepatic dome tumo(u)rs", and some also for "liver dome tumo(u)rs", so I think you could use either.

Yes; seems to be applied more to the diaphragm than the liver. Thanks, Liz :)

Cheers, Neil :) Hope you had a good Halloween (which for me means as little Halloween as possible).
agree Anne Schulz : Agree with your reservations concerning "liver dome" as mainly characterizing the diaphragm; hence, "subdiaphragmatic regions/segments [of the liver]" may be an alternative to look into.

Thanks very much, Anne! That would describe it well, though I thought there was enough support for "hepatic dome" among specialists.
