I know what this actually is, I have seen it many times, only this morning in fact, but how would you translate it succinctly, rather than 'throwing out old rubbish opportunity' any ideas?

Selected
city-wide clean up
Elsőre nem volt egyértelmű, hogy szó szerinti értelemben kell, az "opportunity" szó rossz helyre kerülése miatt. ("throw out old rubbish opportunity"). Most már értem, opportunity to throw out old rubbish, a valódi lomtalanítás. Természetesen szerte a világon ismert fogalom. Amerikában ezt úgy nevezik, hogy "(city-wide) clean up (day)". Többnyire évente kétszer kerül rá sor. A látvány itt sem kellemesebb, mint otthon. :) Két példa:
"CITY-WIDE CLEAN UP DAY – FREE DISPOSAL!! – SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 2010– On Saturday,
April 17, 2010 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the City will be sponsoring its regular bi-annual city-wide cleanup day with free disposal for all residents."
"Temecula's City-Wide Clean Up Day
Date: April 10, 2010
(this event is held twice a year once in the spring and once in the fall)
The City of Temecula and CR&R are sponsoring a program to help you dispose of household waste and large miscellaneous debris that can’t be placed in your trash bins."
