Dear forum,

What English translation would render the actual thing being taught in this school? Health care and kindergarten teacher seems such an odd combination to me..

Kyanzes is right They have courses/classes for training nurses and nursery school teachers. The two has relatively little in common - for example both would study some psychology - but they share the administration and premises. These schools are usually in smaller towns and may have other disciplines or courses added for further specialisation in the health care fields. The profile may change from time-to-time and certain courses, like nursery school (kindergarten) teachers' may not start every year, due to the lack of demand for qualified nursery teachers. It makes perfect sense in their situation to run schools like these.

That's because They teach two separate disciplines: they offer both medical training and kindergarten teacher training. The name does not imply (to me) that there would be a joint training.

Health and welfare training course for nursery teachers

If you consider that in England the term used for óvóda is not 'kindergarten' but nursery school, then it makes sense.
