Bächle

German to English Other
Bächle in den Altstadtgassen (something to be found in Freiburg apparently). Gerberau and Fischerau are also mentioned as things worth seeing. Are these districts?

This is regional dialect, the diminuitive form of "Bach". I am from this area myself, so I know.

This is as the answer already stated diminutive of "Bach".
Gerberau and Fischerau are streetnames in Freiburg.
Gerber coming from "gerben - to tan" (see URL it is some brewing companies website located there) and Fischer is the fisherman.

Little stream does not get the gist of it. I would use brook.
"Baeche von Traenen=streams of tears"
But: "der Bach muendet in den Fluss" =the brook flows into the river
