This is one of the tests specified in a manual that includes testing instructions for welds (resistance welding, spot and seam welds) and thus has nothing to do with wheels, tyres etc. It is defined as:
Die Abrollprüfung dient dem Nachweis eines gleichbleibenden Schweißergebnisses bei Blechdicken < 0,2 mm (kleinste Einzelblechdicke) und soll zum Ausknöpfen der Schweißpunkte führen. Directly connected with this is the term "Abrollproben". My dictionary gives "Ausknöpfprobe - spot weld shear test", but there is also a Scherzugprobe, which sounds more like "shear test" to me. peel testing
is the translation used in the ISO standard (ISO 10447). I imagine that the test involves rolling the welded seam around a mandrel or bending it with a sufficiently small radius of curvature to cause the welds to break.

Bei der Prüfung punktgeschweißter Bleche hat man bei schwer verformbaren Teilen (dicke Bleche, hochfestes Material) immer wieder das Problem, daß die Abrollprüfung nach ISO 10447 nicht durchführbar ist. Auch die dort beschriebene manuelle Meißelprüfung ist schwierig durchführbar, laut und verletzungsgefährdend.

That was also suggested elsewhere (http://form.dict.cc/forum-questions/detail-96205-Abrollpr%FCfung.html) and is also referred to in the a-sp link above, but since it bears no relation to the German and translates back differently (Ernst: Schältest, Kucera: Peeltest, ds-translations.at: Abrollversuch, Raupentest) I was somewhat wary of it."
