The first source is a German-English parallel text [pdf] with a glossary and they translate it with 'report' rather than 'certificate' which seems a good solution.
The other source, from the USA [pdf] makes this comment about Abgangszeugnis:

: record is a good alternative to certificate here but I'm not sure about 'transcript' as I haven't seen one of these documents, no idea if they list the (fail?!) grades

I am pretty sure that they list the failing grades- a transcript normally lists all academic work - audited courses, workgroups, normal courses, etc.

: (School) transcript seems ok here. Just they list every single grade that student received while at that school, whereas the Abgangszeugnis only shows the grades for the final semester before dropping out.
