Thank you for the reply. Considering your second question and your mention of Swiss German and cloud solutions, I still think I got the company right (which is why I was cautious not to post any links that could reveal the client's name).

The three plans they have are called Basic, Professional and Enterprise. Only the latter two include the option to grant access rights based on location. That makes sense because an "Einzelbetrieb" may not require this functionality so why should it have to pay more than necessary (also, workflows aren't a factor in this context because that's a separate list item, actually).

@Mary Are you, by any chance, retranslating the company's website? It's where they call this "multi site," which gives you an idea of what they mean. Confirmed by a related document, where someone is quoted as saying: "Dank der zentralen Datenhaltung aller Rezeptdaten...für alle unsere in- und ausländischen Werke..."

Though I guess I should note that, e.g., SAP has broadened the meaning of Werk a bit: "Ein Werk ist eine Betriebsstätte innerhalb eines Buchungskreises, z.B. eine Produktionsstätte, Außenstelle, Niederlassung oder Filiale."

Maybe that's the reason why PSI (see above) uses site, not (production or manufacturing) plant or facility. Multi(-)site is also fine. The following is basically the English version of your list item, though it’s not the business you’re translating for (but a US-based company):
