German term
Augenblicke eines Jahres -- Impressionen aus der Auvergne
German to English
Art/Literary
Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Malerei
This is the German title of a collection of landscape paintings to be published in book form. The word "Augenblick" refers not only to the moment the scene is captured, but to the "eye" that sees, that paints, and that sees the painting. Any idea how to save the Mehrdeutigkeit inherent in the German title? My admittedly not so satisfying best so far is: "A year in glimpses -- Impressions of the Auvergne"

Visions - impressions of a year in the Auvergne.
Momentary landscapes - a year in/impressions of the Auvergne.
The Auvergne - a year of momentary landscapes.
Something with viewpoints or points of view might work.
Expanses - the landscapes of the Auvergne throughout the year.
Pays d'Auvergne - visual recollections (a visual diary).
The options are endless, and the more you think about it, the worse they get :-)

: Hi Wendy. Has the Auvergne now dropped its definite article, like Ukraine?

In "modern" English the "the" seems to be frequently left out.

Close to the original and "close to English," in my opinion. Compare with link below.

Discussion
The words snapshots/Momentaufnahmen come to mind, but are probably completely out of place.
