The English is written very strangely, and I believe this "strangeness" should be conveyed along in the translation. No one aces their preparation for the skills needed for exams: they ace exams.

The object in the source text is very odd; I would maitain this in the target text. Not too weird, just a tinge...

Me soa um pouquinho estranho na frase, mas comparando com o que o Aulete sugere, está dentro dos usos: "Gabarite a sua preparação para as habilidades medidas pelos exames de certificação — e no trabalho."

Do verbete do Aulete, as frases-exemplo (principalmente a 3):
