Greater harmonisation of boatmasters' certificates
It is expected that this measure will be partly implemented in 2010. After having consulted with business
representatives it was decided that the envisaged harmonisation was not needed at the moment. At this stage the intention is not harmonisation but recognition of Community patent by the Rhine convention which will be achieved at most by 2010. In the longer term, the EU boatmaster certificate is still an objective.
