2 Vladimír I'd use "appellant" rather than "appealer" - but "applicant" is a useful, versatile word in legal contexts, and it just sounds better to me here!

how else, it is an applicant or petitioner in an extraordinary appeal, cassation in some countries.

No, ja by som v tomto prípade dôsledne pracoval s opismi, kedze britske preavo nerozlisuje medzi odvolanie a dovolanie (viz diskusia k http://www.proz.com/kudoz/czech_to_english/law_general/45266... Cize appelant at/before/to the second-instance court - appelant before/at/to the court of final appeal.Pozrel som sa aj na final appelant, ako Petr spravne pise, ide o termin pouzivany v Japonsku, a to v spojeni s vyrazom intermediate appellant. Uprimne povedane, som z toho trochu na rozpakoch, mohlo to byt dost matuce. Osobne by som to asi neriskoval.

I was going to ask exactly the same question :) From what I understand, 'odvolat' is appeal, and 'dovolat' is to seek appellate review as in http://definitions.uslegal.com/a/appellate-review/ so you can have a 'odvolací soud' - court of appeal, and 'dovolací soud' - court of appellate review (or whatever you want to call it) - e.g. in the UK if you are not happy with an appeal you can take it up to the House of Lords, and Strasbourg (not sure off the top of my head which one has the final say)
