Discussion

Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 16, 2011:
I'm slightly uncertain as to whether they mean the baseload band (as opposed to any other band) whenever they use the word pásmová - but it certainly looks like it in this text.
Stuart Hoskins Mar 10, 2011:
base load This journo also thinks it’s base load - see the second para of this article (if you trust a report with a typo in the title...): http://www.ipoint.cz/zpravy/5347655-aukce-cen-elektriny-cezu...
Ivan Šimerka Mar 9, 2011:
Yes, that's it! Base load or baseload (band), there is peak load (band) on the other side of any load diagram.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 9, 2011:
More context I now have some additional context which I did not have yesterday:
elektřina pro krytí ztrát podle této Smlouvy bude dodavatelem dodávána v základním zatížení (pásmu) o výkonu 20 MW v každé obchodní hodině v období od ...

base load (band) ?

Is 'band' OK for this? I'd like your confirmation. Thanks.
Maria Chmelarova Mar 8, 2011:
pasmova dodavka elektriny z www.odbornecasopisy.cy-index.php?id_document=25002
" žlutá elektrina - pasmova dodavka elektriny po celý budúci rok (nepretržite, rovnake množstvo, po 24 hodin, denne, 365 dni v roku) za 73/ halierov/KWh
podobne aj oranžova energia, modra e. , zelená e. - perhaps as tier or scale ....
Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 8, 2011:
Thanks. Well, if it's a non-geographical 'pásmo', I've seen 'band' and also 'tranche' in English. It's all quite confusing.
Radana_K Mar 8, 2011:
I am quite sure it is not a geographical "pásmo" - your text even mentions the size/dimension of this band ("o velikosti pásma 20 MW"), therefore it is definitely not a geographical unit...
Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 8, 2011:
Is it a geographical 'pásmo' or some other kind of 'pásmo'?
Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 8, 2011:
... bez převzetí ...
Dylan Edwards (asker) Mar 8, 2011:
The adjective pásmová refers to a particular kind of pásmo, and I'd like to know exactly what this pásmo is.

Elsewhere in the text I find, for example:

... samostatná dodávka elektřiny, a to měsiční pásmová dodávka elektřiny pro krytí ztrát v přenosové soustavě v roce 2011 bez převetí odpovědnosti za odchylku v období od 1.4.2011 do 30.4.2011 o velikosti pásma 20 MW, t.j. dodávka elektřiny v základním zatížení o výkonu 20 MW pro každou obchodní hodinu v období od 1.4.2011 do 30.4.2011.

band electricity delivery

Jedná se o pásma v diagramu zatížení elektrizační soustavy (denním, týdenním, ročním). V zásadě se jedná o pásmo základního, pološpičkového a spičkového zatížení. Samozřejmě to musí předmětem smlouvy o dodávce elektřiny.

I am sometimes at loss, whether to use supply or delivery and this is the case.
Note from asker:
Thank you. I've posted a bit more context, which may help.
I actually used 'supply' rather than 'delivery'.

Peer comment(s):

agree TechLawDC : or "zonewise". I don't know what "pro krytí ztrát" refers to, but it is evidently addressed by the "zonal supply".

glossary- load, baseload generating unit, load zone

www.cez.cz/edee/content.file/vzdelavani/soutez/Knara.pgf
.....BASE LOAD (7 MW).......

baseload, base load - is the minimum amount of power that a utility or distribution company must make available to its customers, or the amount of power required to meet minimum demands based on reasonable expectations of customer requirements.
So base load is not "pasmova dodavka elektriny"

load zone - " an aggregation of nodes within a specific area.
There are currently 8 load zones in New England, and they have the same boundaries as the N.E. reliability regions." www.iso.ne.com
