testament
Bonjour il s'agit du titre d'un acte de dépôt de testament. Je pense qu'il s'agit de Land Registry mais dans le doute je préfère vous poser la question et vous remercie d'avance.

public notice
These notices are there to announce the death of an individual and inform people when a deceased person's estate is being distributed to beneficiaries, according to the Trustees Act of 1925. This gives creditors an opportunity to claim back any money or property they are owed before the estate is distributed.

: I'd have agreed with gazette notice, as in a section 27 notification to beneficiaries https://www.nationalwillregister.co.uk/section-27-notice/

A gazette notice IS a public notice and section 27 Wills Act doesn't apply in France; also if you read Article 1378 of the FRENCH CPC, you'll see that the notice must also go into a local newspaper; "gazetting" is too casual

OK, but that provision might be in addition to placing a public notice, we don't actually know at this stage

gazetting (publicising vs. publication)
I agree with registration of Will, whilst extrapolate from the Discussion Entries a 'Gazetting Process'. I'm not sute that 'public notice' quite nails it.
Anyway, 'publication' vs. publicising of the Will is misleading as intimated and the meaning of showing the Will to witnesses is los, even on the UK Probate website.
As part of ProZ 'Netiquette', I will let and 'allow' anyone to post the registration alternative.

.. the meaning of showing the Will to witnesses is *lost*, even on the UK Government Probate (= Scottish Letters of Confirmation) website.

Example sentence:
The Gazette (Official Public Record) and The National Will Register have entered into a contractual arrangement producing a strategic working alliance aimed at offering a comprehensive, “belt and braces” approach

Notification
I am making this second (tentative and alternative) suggestion on the basis that the full content of the paragraph under the heading requires BOTH the insertion of a public notice in the BOAC and a local newspaper AND the sending of a copy of the will to the Court
"Notification", I think, would be a suitable generic heading in this event.

"Publication", as intimated by AMM, is a misnomer as the will itself is not published in the Gazette or the press
"Notification", I think, would be a suitable generic heading in this event.

Thank you Allegro ! A generic translation seems suitable ! |

: No insertion of a notice in the BOAC is required under art. 1007 of the Code civil, nor does a generic heading seem suitable: publicité is a specific term. See phg's "reg. of will"./Making things up that are not in the ST?? Is this a joke?

And if BOTH the public notice and the sending of a copy of the will to the Court are necessary?//not making anything up, just a suggestion based on a probability: I did say this was tentative

I'm not clear why this is the heading and not 'acte de dépôt de testament'. Or is it a subheading?

greffier = registrar
> publicité (here) = "register a will at the registrar's office" (or whatever the English formal version might be)?
