Non-PRO Spanish to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Hola,

"HAVING READ THIS DOCUMENT AND HAVING ACCEPTED ITS CONTENT"

Gracias.

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (1): Toni Castano

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

In response to the comments, this expression is widely used in this context. https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/certificates-d...

Thanks!
neutral AllegroTrans : Would that not be "En testimonio de lo cual" or similar?

No, it has a broader application than that.
disagree Jennifer Levey : Agree with AT. Also, one of the signatories is tagged 'el declarante' and therefore cannot sign a statement that says 'in witness thereof'.

Actually, the declarante can.

and in accordance with its content

The speaker (orator) and the witnesses read the document and accepted the terms of its content before they signed.

Really they sign because they accept the content and the terms written in the document. The content of the document is what the document states, which is accepted by those who sign it. The content of the document does not necessarily require a signature. They accept what the terms explain in the document. Agreement is similar to acceptance, but not exactly the same.
Literally 'conformes con el contenido' is 'content compliant', meaning that once they sign the document they accept and comply with the rules in its content.
'in agreement with its content' - 'de acuerdo con el contenido'

Peer comment(s):

disagree patinba : “In accordance with its content” means that they are signing because the content requires it. What this phrase means is that the signers are signing because they agree with the content.

disagree Jennifer Levey : Agree with patinba.
