Italian term

riunione dei fascicoli

Italian to English Law/Patents Law (general) proceedings
A plaintiff brought action against the same defendant in two separate lawsuits, and the court "previa riunione dei fascicoli, procedeva ad escutere i testi..."

Is this something similar to a joinder of claims?

Thank you in advance for any help!

joinder cannot be used in this context
Note from asker:
Ok - "durante il corso del giudizio, previa riunione dei fascicoli..." "during the course of the proceedings, and upon joining the claims"?

(E&W: civ.) joining > (crim.) consolidation > of the case bundles

There might be some confusion or conflation in the web ref. answers: in E&W, cases are joined but criminal etc. appeals are consolidated.

The question again does not spell out whether this is a civil, admiralty or criminal context, but proceedings are assumed to be civil.
Note from asker:
yes, a civil case.
