English term
Attachment has got fixed and swivel jaw
English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Excavator machine
I would like to know if the phrase above makes sense at all to an English language native speaker. It is taken from an instruction manual for an excavator.
Quick coupling attachment was equipped with double effect cylinder (A). ***Attachment has got fixed and swivel jaw*** in order to engage bucket from bucket pins (B). ***Swivel jaw pendul to inside and outside in connection with hydraulic cylinder***. To fix swivel jaw, it has to be moved to the inside.
PARTS
A:Hydraulic cylinder
B:Bucket pin
C:Swivel jaw
D:Safety pin
My problem is with "swivel". I understand that it is an adjective. It seems that the phrase lacks a verb. The same situation occurs with the phrase: ***Swivel jaw pendul to inside and outside in connection with hydraulic cylinder***, since it seems that a verb is missing.
Thanks for your help.

Attachment has a fixed and swivel jaw (C) in order to engage the bucket
I am sure this is what you want..
Quick coupling attachment has been equipped with double effect cylinder (A). Attachment has a fixed and swivel jaw (C) in order to engage the bucket with the bucket pins (B). The swivel jaw (C) pendulums to the inside and outside via a connection to the hydraulic cylinder (A). To affix the swivel jaw (C), it (the swivel jaw (C)) has to be moved to the inside.

Attachment has a fixed double effect cylinder and a swivel jaw
Swivel is also a noun, used as in swivel jaw in the link below.

For the phrase below
***Swivel jaw pendul to inside and outside in connection with hydraulic cylinder***,
like you say, there is a verb missing, but my guess is that the sentence should be ***Swivel jaw swings (as in a pendulum) to inside and outside in connection with hydraulic cylinder***.

Sorry, my explanation was not to the point.
Swivel itself is used as a noun, meaning a connection that allows the connected object, such as a gun or chair to rotate horizontally and/or vertically.

: It says the attachment already has a fixed and swivel jaw.. these are quick cupple connectors which enable the operator to attach implements without leaving the tractor cab.
