I am not sure if this exists in most English speaking countries.
It consists in declaring at a Notary´s office and including it in the Real Estate Register, that the home you live in is the only property you have, and that your family lives in it.
The practical effect of this (at least in Argentina) is that even if you incur in non payment of taxes, bankruptcy, etc. nobody can take the property away from you.
Of course, the day you sell it, the history is completely different.

\"Home equity loans\" were only authorized in Texas a few years ago; until that time the debt on a homestead could not be increased except for the cost of an improvement.
This concept definitely exists in the US.

Registry for Family Asset Protection
My first instinct was that this was talking about family assets. In actual fact, it is talking about a Registry where you can register your family assets for protection (against bankruptcy, creditors, etc.).

In North America we don't actually have an equivalent for this. Of course, there are legal documents and procedures for protecting family assets, but no actual REGISTRY. So I think you would be best to leave it as is, and leave the above explanation in parenthesis.
