تملأ افواهنا

Arabic to English Other Poetry & Literature
سندعمها من اجل ألا نفقد ال(نعم) التي هي رأس مالنا و التي تملأ افواهنا

Discussion

Zeinab Asfour May 26, 2006:
تملأ أفواهنا here refers to مصدر رزقنا و رأس مالنا .
I do agree with Mr.Atef, is it "Niaam: blessings or Na'am: as in Yes".
atef Sharia May 26, 2006:
needed more text, if it is نعم بفتح النون or نعم بكسر النون , Normaly Arab leaders!!! are proud to say لا، so strange for me this نعم .

This is a sarcastic political statement making fun of some leaders who are always ready to say "yes sir!".

I don't think it is about "food". Otherwise the writer would have said تملأ بطوننا

... which feeds us.

The whole sentence is سندعمها من اجل ألا نفقد ال(نعم) التي هي رأس مالنا و التي تملأ افواهنا
so we should translate according to the given context. Translation: " We will support it/her in order not to lose the blessing of our capital ( money) which (is what) feeds us."
