En inglés hay que distinguir entre "to retreat" (retirar) y "to re-treat" (volver a tratar). En mi opinión, en este caso se refiere a la primera acepción ya que el texto dice que no se encuentra astigmatismo en la cornea por lo que se retira el tratamiento contra el astigmatismo.
