Der Jahresabschluss für das Geschäftsjahr 2008 ist nach den Rechnungslegungsvorschriften des Handelsgesetzbuches und des GmbH-Gesetzes aufgestellt.
Für die Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung wurde das Gesamtkostenverfahren gewählt.
Die Gesellschaft ist eine große Kapitalgesellschaft im Sinne des § 267 Abs. 3 HGB.
2. Bilanzierungs- und Bewertungsgrundsätze
Die immateriellen Vermögensgegenstände und Sachanlagen wurden zu Anschaffungs- bzw. Herstellungskosten angesetzt und, soweit abnutzbar, um planmäßige Abschreibungen vermindert. Die Abschreibungen wurden nach der betriebsgewöhnlichen Nutzungsdauer der Vermögensgegenstände und entsprechend den steuerlichen Vorschriften sowohl linear als auch degressiv vorgenommen. Für abnutzbare bewegliche Wirtschaftsgüter, die einer selbständigen Nutzung fähig sind und deren Anschaffungskosten 150,00 EUR, aber nicht 1.000,00 EUR übersteigen, wurde ein Sammelposten gebildet, der jedes Jahr mit einem Fünftel gewinnmindernd entsprechend der steuerlichen Vorschriften gemäß § 6 Abs. 2a EStG aufgelöst wird.

The financial statements for the 2008 financial year have been compiled in accordance with the provisions on accounting laid down in the German Commercial Code [HGB] and the German Law on Limited Liability Companies [GmbHG].
The cost-summary method was used for the income statement.
The Company is a large corporation as defined by Sec. 267 para. 3 HGB.
2. Recognition and measurement standards
Intangible assets were recorded at cost less depreciation to the extent that the items were subject to wear and tear. Depreciation was accrued according to the assets’ estimated useful lives in accordance with tax regulations, using both the straight-line and the declining balance method of depreciation. A collective item was recorded for depreciable movable items that can be used independently and whose cost range between 150.00 EUR and 1,000.00 EUR; each year, one fifth of the collective item is written off through profit and loss as set forth in the tax provisions in Sec. 6 para. 2a EStG [German Income Tax Code].

Source text - English Company law requires the directors to prepare financial statements for each financial year. Under that law the directors have elected to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (United Kingdom Accounting Standards and applicable law). The financial statements are required by law to give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing these financial statements, the directors are required to:
• select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently,
• make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent,
• state whether applicable UK Accounting Standards have been followed, and
• prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the company will continue in business.
The directors are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the company and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Companies Act 1985.
Translation - German Das Gesellschaftsrecht bestimmt, dass der Vorstand für jedes Geschäftsjahr einen Jahresabschluss zu erstellen hat.
